I'm not sure if these are being used for anything yet, but I recall other servers using them as money. The more Player kills you get the more points you get that u can spend on items.
However I just noticed that you get PVP points from dieing against NPC's.... So if some one wanted a lot of PVP points, they could just commit suicide a lot.
